Of course... when someone that only cares for his well being, his status, his future, will pretty much be a coward when duty or life situations like this happen, they would run away, please please, let this be one of those moments that he gets stabbed in the back, not from the ambushers, but his own allies for being a deserter... this is my personal opinion for how he should end, since he has threaten his own captain with something, that could not only kill him or his status in the army, but his lover too...
