Slight variation from routine at work, today. Upon opening the store, we found that someone had left a box with 8 little kittens there. I helped catch the escapees, and set up a display case with a sign I'd drawn. Bought em some food from the nearby liquor store (yes, they carry canned tuna and catfood). They were at maximum cuteness age, so they all got adopted out that day. Wish I coulda taken one myself, but my new place already has a (presumably jealous) cat.

It's sad, but I guess it's just part of life for the average domestic cat. Good to hear none of them had to wait long to find new homes, though.
On a vaguely related note.. I had a roommate who went out and spent four hundred dollars buying a kitten from the pet store. I was like, "What... you know you can't walk five feet without finding free kittens these days, right?"

You really highlighted 'KITTENS' and the picture-- that already has people going in. ANd if they're curious enough, they're reading the whole picture, which lets them know about the abandonment.
