15 years apart (My style through time)
The same character but 15 years apart. The white dragon Redoran has been with me for a long time and this year I decided to redesign him to bring him up to the standards of my current style, but while keeping all the features that makes him unique.

When I designed Redoran around 2007 I was only 15 years old. I was in my second year of high school and was just starting to draw. Those were good years where drawing was wonderful and new for me, it was an activity that would mark my life and forge me to be who I am today.
It's quite nice to compare my old style with the current one. I still really like the original drawing from 2007, because it has something that my way of drawing has gradually lost over time: drawing cutely. My characters when I was 15 years old looked like children and very young, because I was also a child and very young. Now, being 30 years old, I draw my characters with a similar age to mine: adults and mature, with a more serious and solid touch. Although many of my characters retain the same heart that they had when I was young, in the same way that the artist still feels like a happy child every time he draws something on the canvas.
Redoran now looks mature and adult. But underneath those thicker muscles and those solid scales, there is the same soul as 15 years ago. This is a very nice character that I hope to remember again in another 15 years. Let's see where my style takes me in the future ehehe.
And although both styles are very different in quality, some may have noticed that certain characteristics of my way of drawing still exist. Drawing consistent and strong lines is one of them. Since the beginning, I always liked to draw with solid lines. Timid but noticeable lines of muscle contours are also noticeable, a habit that over time would lead me to make full details of muscles and tendons.
Although other things have changed a lot too, among them is that now I use to draw claws and horns with a metallic color, when before it they were yellowish. I now draw the wings fully articulated as if they were another pair of hands and my style of making shadows is now done with lines and not with black brushstrokes. But apart from those differences my style is practically the same but highly updated.
As I mentioned before, I still love the old drawing and it is a treasure that I keep with joy. I hope you like that old drawing too, don't be so hard on that old style, it was made by a boy who was only 15 years old haha. And each one of those humble strokes was the foundation that allowed me to be what I am today.

It's one of the positive things about growing up eheh. Redoran has become more adult and his body shows that change quite well.
I don't know if he will continue to grow, but dragons are always constantly changing over time, who knows what surprises the future holds~
