Finally giving the Sa'jiir, the giant lizardfolk of my setting, some deserved love!
Normally, being nomadic desert-dwellers, the Sa'jiir don't wear a lot of armor (generally some padded armor), but ever since the human invasion of the subcontinent and the subsequent trading and cultural exchange, many have decided to gravitate towards a more "human-styled" armor.
This was pretty much an idea of how a full suit of plate would look on one of these lizards. Considering their size and elongared limbs, a series of smaller plates rather than few large piece was pretty much a necessity, even though it likely makes the process of wearing much more tedious. The Sa'jiir here depicted is most likely filthy rich (a tribe chief or high caste warrior).
Also, giant swords for the win \o/

Ah due I love it, got my own giant bois in my little world, so I always enjoy the biguns
Tell you what tho, big sword is pog but my god imagine one of these buggers with a pole axe
Oh you have a shield? I think you mean HAD
Plus, think of th bow weight they could draw, as humans can draw upto like 200lb I bet they could max out a lot higher and shoot some insanely heavy arrows down range, I been trying to work on the draw length of my guys and I reckon it's about 40+ inches, beef up the arrows to a couple of thousand grains and dent have them put dents in even the best armour
(Also I love the tail mace)

Damn that is fantastic. Big guy might run into a sneaky feline who has figured out how to load a good sized special arrow into their musket.. https://i.imgur.com/nDRVw7C.gif
Amazing what a smooth bore muzzle loader can launch

I have to imagine the Sa'jiir operate on Warhammer Fantasy/40K rules: the higher rank you are, the more badass and more capable of fighting off entire armies single-handedly. A small squad of these guys clad in full plate armor and wielding massive weapons could probably turn the tide of a battle, both as shock troops and a psychological weapon. Granted, if a group of humans with poleaxes and daggers swarm them, the Sa'jiir might be in serious trouble, but that's assuming you have a group of non-Sa'jiir brave or foolhardy enough to not turn and run when you have several hundred pounds of muscle and metal bearing down on you.
As they are desert nomads, they probably don't have the wealth or numbers to be a serious threat outside the bordering regions of their territories, but anyone who tries to subjugate them are going to be in for a world of pain and embarrassment. Good luck trying to pin them down for a pitched battle, and if enough elite warriors come together to fight the common enemy, that pitched battle is going to be bloody enough to make even victory not worth it.

also, since they are that big, and most possibly die-hard being desert-dwellers, one or two pokings with a dagger might not slow them down at all. you'll probably have to poison the daggers, too. and then there is still a hefty fortitude roll against poison.
the only way I see it is to trap them in a pit where you can just wait things out while making sure they don't escape.
