I can almost hear her, standing on the edge of the cliff, watching the Flying Dutchman sailing away, back to its eternally damned voyage, crying out "Hier steh' ich, treu dir bis zum Tod!" to the captain (Here I stand, faithful to you unto death!) just before she flings herself off the cliff, thereby saving the souls of all aboard.
