Nah-uh they's leopard color, soooper black when ripe... and sometimes even green. Silly Foxy!
Japanese culture. Red wards off evil, thus they'd tie a red cloth around the necks of Kitsune and Shiba Inu guardian statues. Actually, that's why you'd see so many Red and White things at Shrines in general. I forget why White is so prominent though.
