That's kinda what the story's about, between the lines. The story was inspired by a character I'm working on, and the idea that a new name might be of some help. I've been working on her, for months, and I still can't get a lock on her. Not for lack of trying, I actually have too many ideas, and nothing's ever really leaped out at me.
What a delight and wonder your story is. I enjoyed it greatly. It is rare that I lack a name for characters I seem to be able to generate them rapidly even ones that I create from random letters or ones that activly choose from those that already exist. Take Sir Leslie Albert Bartholemew Maxwell who is in my current Choosing a Name Story. I was thinking of Bart Simpson at the time mixed with my grandfather and Maxamillion Pegasus. Odd combination but I ended up with a distinguished name for a kindly old badger folk. Names are indeed a delight to render onto your characters and can hold or lose them. Your story is my smile for the day. THankyou for writing it. *hugs*
