So here is a semi WIP of a mermaid picture i am working to improve with layers with my markers. I was colouring it a nice light aqua, then halfway through the marker DIED. I was pissed... so I overlapped it with a bright green... put on some shading, I might add one more layer of green to smooth it all out. After that is the white gel pen for bubbles and I'll call it done and possibly put it up for sale as is.
The other idea was to make a set with other things, Gorgon, Dragon, Sphinx, Manticore, Dragon, etc and making a giant framed poster of all the originals mounted together and see how well that sells...
I dunno. I have a hand cramp.

Reason people would call it cute would most likely the combination of the style of the whole thing in itself.
I was looking at it for a bit and I thought "Maybe the eyes?" then I scroll down a bit and look at the frame of her body and see that is small too. "Hmm!"
Small and not so much intimidating; not so much frightening of the teeth.

Small? These things are about the size of a human if not just a bit bigger. It is a matriarchal dominant species. They have three rows of shark like teeth, suction cups on their webbed clawed hands to hold prey tighter and can twist their body to swim with their tails side to side like a shark or up and down like a dolphin, reaching the maximum speeds of both.
There are two different breeds so far, the black eyes and the gold eyes, and two different species, salt water and fresh water.
