Sapphire Birch had a reputation as a wild girl, a violent tomboy that Mightyena were taken aback from. In helping her father's research, she become more and more enamored with the wild where Pokemon fought for survival. Even in the wood near Littleroot, there was a very thin line between life and death that she would regularly tip-toe on with very shaky balance. The young girl claimed that it was for researching Pokemon but that wasn't the truth.
Ever since that close encounter with that Salamance, Sapphire strove to become not only stronger but fearless in the face of certain doom. Next time, that boy would be able to rely on her in a pinch. She had many escapade and near brushes with death, rising to each challenge with or without a Pokemon for help. Suffice to say, this made her confident in her own abilities but also a slight bit cocky. Cocky enough to just sit up against a tree and take a light enough nap deep into the wood.
Sapphire was soon woken up by the sound of hissing and by the sight of an Arbok slithering up to her. Her battle instincts kicked into high gear for only a single second before the Cobra Pokemon displayed the facial patterns on his cowl and wore a sinister smile when the eyes glowed. Sapphire recognized the Glare attack in action far too late right before she felt her battle prowess slowly deflate like a punctured car tire. She knew that she had to defend herself and fight but... did she have to?
It was feeling so much better to just... not do anything. Sapphire had only briefly studied up on serpent-like Pokemon and the Glare attack that they employed on their prey or opponent, an empowered look-in-the-eye that could paralyze even a Legendary Pokemon. What she had hardly looked into was how that paralysis worked until now when she experienced it first hand. It debilitated one's reflexes and fighting abilities by way of a relaxing glow of colors, imbuing them with a sense of pure happiness. This was far more effective on prey that were particularly scrappy, prey that desired rest despite what they tried to let on.
Sapphire's unblinking eyes went wide while the red and yellow pattern on Arbok's cowl flooded her eyes one color after another. Both of her arms went slack when the growing relaxation spread throughout her body. Her legs laid together before her, too tired to lift her even an inch. She tried to turn her head away while her sense of danger still clung onto dear life. However, a smile started to curl upon her lips when the bliss of Arbok's Glare became too... addictive. She had forgotten this unbridled happiness from when she dressed up into the most girly outfit of frills and pink. Fighting was so... stressful. Why not... smile? Be happy?
Arbok was quite happy himself seeing Sapphire submit to his Glare. The wild child had become known as that Pokemon in human form and garnered quite a bit of respect from many. Others such as the Cobra Pokemon were less that impressed and even took offense to a powerless girl trying to be on par with even a Zigzagoon. How he relished seeing her put back in her place as the weak, little girl she truly was. He even pet her under the chin just as human would upon capturing his kind. It elicited a rather adorable giggle from his prey and a bright blush just above her goofy grin. He found her rather adorable actually.
Hungry as Arbok was, he felt he could stand to... admire his handiwork. A little more humiliation in his prey would often enhance the flavoring. This period of time would be the exact opening one might take to rescue Sapphire from her final moments as a measly snack. Would history repeat itself for a young man to rescue this damsel in distress? Could she hold onto a sliver of her willpower and manage to break free of the bliss whittling down her willpower? Or will the violent tomboy be reduced from a strong and capable girl of nature to a snake's snack smiling all the way to his stomach.
