Why must I feel
These feelings in my heart
The ones of pain, and sorrow
Why can’t they just part?

Why can’t they just go away
To leave me alone for good
Why can’t they just fly off
To put me in a better mood

Why can’t they just suppress themselves
Why can’t I just live in peace
Without these thoughts of love
Why can’t these feelings cease

Why must I cry
Every night I live through
Why must they always be spent
Feeling so down and so blue

Why is my heart in pieces
Why can’t it be fixed
Why are my emotions
Liking to be mixed

Why must I suffer
In my self loathing
Why can’t it be shed
Like any piece of clothing

Why must I be in sorrow
When at last the time ends
Why is it stiff
Why doesn’t it bend

Why can’t I be happy
Why must I be sad
Why can’t I be joyful
Instead of always mad

The answer to all of these
Is simple I am afraid
For my heart that is in pieces
Feels like it has been betrayed

So now I live on
In my sorrow and self hate
For now I know what it feels like
To have lost my true soul mate
