Well! The answer might be "yes, because (someone) says so." But if we assume Laylee is at "normal" scale, just with mostly duplicated body parts, it stands to reason that each segment could carry itself plus a bit extra. That should cover her entire body, so it's just a matter of supporting the wingless front segment and finding a good rhythm.
