CT-5491, or "Tayle", as he calls himself, is a clone captain in the Grand Army of the Republic, and was formerly the second-in-command of the 104th Composite Unit, serving under Chanticleer Bluth. Tayle was sad to see Chanticleer, Goldie, and their two kids head home to Cartoonia following the end of the war against the Disney Corporation, but was glad that he could talk to Chanticleer again during his regular holo-calls with Anakin. Anakin also let Tayle keep his armor's custom paint job and his custom-built Thompson submachine blaster, as in a way, Chanticleer would still be among the men of the Clone Army. Tayle became the head of the 104th as it was rolled back into the 501st Legion, with the unit becoming the 104th Heavy Artillery Detachment.
When Tayle received his new Phase 2 ARC Trooper armor, he decided to give it a full paint job, as opposed to the semi-striped paint scheme of his old Phase 1 armor. Now, it more closely resembles Chanticleer's head, body plumage, tail feathers, and usual outfit.
Tayle and the 104th continued to fight throughout the Clone Wars, seeing action on Murkhana, Felucia, Commenor, Anaxes, and Mygeeto. Because his unit was providing direct fire support to another all-clone unit on Mygeeto, Tayle did not receive Order 66 from Darth Sidious. At first, Tayle believed that the Empire was bringing stability to a war-torn galaxy, but after a time, it became clear to Tayle that the Empire was subjugating the citizens of the galaxy he had sworn to protect. After all, repression was something that his hero Chanticleer had fought against. After only two weeks, Tayle had had enough, and he stole a Nu-class shuttle and made for Cartoonia. He made it there just before Chanticleer moved the planet to the other side of Earth using the Godbrush's power, placing it out of range of any Imperial ships.
Reunited with Chanticleer, Tayle decided to settle down on his farm and became a farmhand, taking on the new name "John Tayle". Tayle babysat Chanticleer's children William and Donna on occasion, watched Chanticleer grow his skills in the Force and open up a Jedi Academy on Cartoonia, and became enamored with Americartoon culture over time. Tayle died peacefully at age 89 in 1974 Cartoonia Time (2029), being bade farewell by his former commander.
