A Legion titan with some aftermarket upgrades that definitely aren't regulation.
His Pilot is one of my favorite OCs but I feel weird posting strictly human art on FA, lol

Ares was one of the IMC's first pre-Monarch attempts to compete with the Milita's Vanguard-class Titans. While they were never fully successful at reverse-engineering the Vanguard's versatility, early experiments with more advanced AI cores were able to create Titans that were more intelligent, more independent, and more "individual" than the usual disposable mechs.
It came at the cost of irreplaceability; the AI core is stored in the CERE kit and must be physically removed if the chassis is too highly-damaged to be recovered. Unlike the more-advanced Vanguards, these Titans are known to go through an "adjustment period" upon being imported into a new chassis, and may take some time to regain their battlefield readiness.
Ultimately, the slow recovery time and high cost of production led to the project being scrapped in favor of the Monarch-class, but a small number of existing units were put into service. The titan "Ares" went missing in battle during the IMC comms blackout of 2715; attempts to reestablish contact failed, and the Pilot and Titan were respectively presumed KIA and destroyed.
However, rumors abound the duo reemerged as freelance mercenaries, and were recruited into the now-independent Apex Predators before the mercenary company was disbanded and absorbed into the Syndicate.
