Haley is far from your normal Emolga. At the young age of 3, she was involved in a serious accident that left her paralyzed from the legs down, leaving her unable to walk. Therefore, the flying squirrel Pokemon was subjected to being carried around by her parents everywhere around the house, and she wasn't able to enroll in any sort of school until they were able to acquire a proper wheelchair for her to use without any need of parental supervision.

It obviously hurt her seeing many fellow students go off and run around, playing with each other during recess, but over time, she's grown to adjust to her confined life. She's even gained a few friends over the years that she liked to hang out with.

It wasn't until she was 13 when she was fiddling around with an old VCR player to try and fix it up, just so she could watch an old movie. Thanks to her sparks of electrical power, she managed to get it fixed up like it was brand new! From there, she developed a little hobby for taking apart electronic items and reusing parts for them on other items, or just fixing them altogether. Though when she wanted to go to college for her own studies, her parents were incredibly nervous about her being out on her own. So she moved in with a special caretaker that watched over and provided assistance when needed, just in case the worst ended up happening.
