heres a whip i made out of scales and chain mail.
the scales all spiral down edge facing the handle like teeth.
hehe just swing and pull. *scales are not sharpened*
handle is made with flat scales with brass ascents.
handle is 10" long, body is 3 feet 4 inches.
scales are held together by stainless split rings (key chain style), and the spiral is held together by 14g galvanized steel.
the whole piece is very corrosion resistant. just don't leave it in a pool.
