The Beagedilloth is the larger and nastier relative of the Gruntling. This brutish beast leads a mostly foraging lifestyle. It feeds on giant insects, mushrooms, carrion, and other such things (basically anything that can't run away from it). However, above all else, the Beagedilloth craves eggs.
During the brooding season, when several avian and reptilian creatures get ready to raise their young, this beast becomes a true menace. Its obsession with eggs is such that it will literally drop whatever it is doing at the moment only for the slightest chance of getting to raid a nest. With its significant bulk, spiked armor, bladed tail, and foul stench, it can fairly easily bully most parents of their nests and eat their young right in front of them.
The Beagedilloth is brazen enough to even go after dragon eggs. Many first-time dragon parents lose their eggs to this creature. As such, any dragon, drake, or wyvern will attack it on sight. To mitigate this, the Beagedilloth leads a mostly nocturnal lifestyle in order to avoid the diurnal dragon.
