A sunny Saturday, with clear skies and balmy temperatures. The ideal summer day. To not take advantage of it was almost criminal. Hence, why there were so many people hitting the beaches... and why Jaanada and Seemir were called in to provide extra coverage.

After donning their lifeguard uniforms and then navigating the maze of streets, the pair were finally approaching their assigned zone for the day. "Thanks for coming with me, Seemir," Jaanada smiled, hugging him from behind with one of her broad wings.

"Any time spent with you is time well spent," he nodded. "I must say, you handle your size quite well."

"It helps to know how it feels to be small myself..." a couple of people on a nearby rooftop gave her reason to pause. They appeared to be waving at her! Jaanada waved back. "Oh, hello there! Are you having a good day today?"

"We are, now that you're here!" one of them answered.

Seemir turned his eyes and grinned.

"The city couldn't have picked a better pair than you two," the other person said. "You're a lot friendlier than the other lifeguards."

"Not to mention outstanding, if you know what I mean."

Jaanada giggled. "Why, thank you for the kind words! I'm just glad to be outside on a day like this. Even if I do have to work a twelve-hour shift."

"Amen to that! Have a good day now!"

"You too!" Jaanada blew them a kiss and took a step forward, making sure their feet and tails wouldn't get in anyone's way.

"You have an interesting way with the little ones," Seemir chuckled as he followed. "Not at all like the others I've mentored."

In one stride, Jaanada cleared the bike path and took her first step on the sand. "Is that a bad thing?"

"Heh, hardly. You're going to make for a great giant."

What is this, a crossover episode?! Yes, it is, as my two flagship OCs make an appearance together for a wholesome macro scene. Interestingly, both are, canonically, life-savers in some capacity. Jaanada does lifeguarding from time to time, especially if she for some reason wouldn't be a biologist, and Seemir is a cleric. It just seemed natural that the two would one day be seen together doing something they have in common.

Once again,  jarethnerl has put together another wonderful commission that I felt compelled to do after my first one, featuring my brand-new patriotic griffiness Becky, was so successful. His bright, colorful, cartoony style, not to mention the cityscapes and impeccable attention to detail, is something I aspire to accomplish one day for my own drawings.
