>>Part 1 <<
Last time we saw Warez was when he learned that his powers essentially weren’t working and had to go about his day to day life unable to teleport back home. But during his time here, he learned a little bit about the planet. After finding a small town he went around talking to people and asking questions and what seems to be consistent from many people is “The magic just disappeared one day.”
So mana was no more, businesses and people who solely relied on it lost their jobs and the world began to start regressing. Even mobs out in the wild who internally used mana to survive or hunt were all pretty inactive or dead. Whatever event took place, he needs to be the one to find out what happened and reverse it or he’ll be stuck here forever.
With not getting much of a lead, Warez came up with a plan to find any traces of sizable mana and investigate the area to see if he can come up with anything. If there’s any magic left in the world somewhere, he will be the only one able to find it. Since it seems like everyone else on the planet who use to be able to cast spells can’t even sense mana anymore. Even feeling mana himself was difficult but not impossible, so days went by for him finding anything that had an abundance of mana and he eventually found something. He eventually found himself at an old cryptic building with traces of mana faintly pouring out the entrance.
He takes his first steps into the room and it’s too dark to see anything. Without his fire abilities he uses his prestidigitation skill to make a small light that barely lights the room and he begins to go further in the room and travels down the stairs. After some time, he finds himself in a long hallway with a small red glowing orb pulsating near the end. Thinking everything was safe he takes one step forward, but that one step activated the orb and it begins to engulf itself in fire growing in size exponentially. Not wanting to find out what was about to happen the dragon hits the swiftest 180 and high tails it from whence he came. But of course it wouldn’t be so easy, as the plume of flame starts to track down the retreating dragon. Warez quickly begins to notice the heat grow around him and comes to realize it’s catching up to him. From the distance to the entrance, the flames will consume him before he gets there.
What made matters worst, he turns around to see the flames turn into the head of a large snake. Great…eaten alive by some magical fire beast, this is really how it’s going to end? Warez dug real deep, he didn’t care what strain on his body for trying to eke out some magic to coat himself in lightning, increasing his speed, to just keep pace with the fire creature as he leaps out the entrance. Thinking a fight was about to brew, the creature lets out a loud hiss and slithers back inside, leaving the aching dragon paralyzed on the ground. “Well…looks like that’s not where I need to be.” Not just before closing his eyes and passing out.
