To help maintain social distancing in the Dealers’ Den, Furnal Equinox this year had all three rooms on the upper floor of the convention centre dedicated to the Den while keeping around the same number of artists. It’s only when the dividing walls are taken down do you realise how massive the hall is!

My original plan for the convention was to arrive early on Friday morning, but I’ll elaborate in an upcoming journal why that wasn’t possible. As it is, I arrived at the Westin late on Thursday morning to help with unloading the trucks carrying stuff for the con. The truck was a bit behind schedule, so I checked into my room, dropped off my bag, and went down to mill around with Ops staff. After the truck arrived and its contents unloaded, I wondered around the convention centre for a bit before going to pick up my staff badge and goodie bag. I then went to lobby to see if I could spot any familiar faces. Among those I did see were  Moth Monarch and  catmonkshiro , and shortly thereafter my roommates for the long weekend,  MatthiasZebra and  Fulminar . We went to the room, did some unpacking, and then headed back down to the convention space as we awaited registration to open. The lines for registration were quite something, so I put on my staff hat and helped with crowd control for around 3 hours until things died down a bit, and I could be relieved. In that time, I saw many more familiar faces, including  seadog_driftwood ,  S00T ,  Kindle_Wolf , and  WolfPsalm . Following that, I returned to the room, and proceeded to snack for a bit rather than getting dinner, resolving to get a big breakfast in the morning.
