I lived in Keene for like 6 years, it was nice there, though the college ppl got kinda annoying lol.
I lived on Valley St, and then on Washington St.
Keene has changed tremendously since, the colony mill mall is nearly empty, theres like 3 stores in there, the Center at Keene is almost empty too, the candy shoppe at the colony mill is gone, it had been there since 1823, its sad there now it's like a husk of a town.
I live in Nashua now though I like it, it's a very nice neighborhood, I actually lived all over the place lol
I usedto live in Fitchburg mass, then Portland Maine, then I lived in Mass again then I moved to Sturbridge Ma, then I moved back to fitchburg, then to Keene, then Glastonbury Connecticut, now in Nashua.
I found I love either Maine or New Hampshire the best, I don't think I would give up northern New England for anything in the world.
^_^ It's so pretty and nice up here.

It's not worth coming back to Maine. The cost of living here is getting steep and the wages aren't pretty enough to keep up. LaPage is a monger that no one voted for 43%, but a last minute scare by LaPage's party split the vote on Mitchell, and my guy (Cutler) just barely lost (38%). =_=
Anyhow, I'll be moving back home in a few years I hope. I'm looking around Bradford area. It's right in the middle of my in-laws and my own family in Fall Mtn.
Keene will eventually be forced to do something about the chains that have moved in and then the mill will revitalize. If not as shops, maybe nice condos. I'm glad the Borders is closing I never lived in Keene proper, and happy for that, a little too many druggy highschoolers, I wouldn't want to have a kid of my own growing up around that.

Yeah seriously, Keene was pretty ghetto as far as NH cities go, Even Nash is pretty crappy in a couple areas, but I live in the quiet elderly sort of area, right near a sunday school, it's very quiet and nice here lol.
Ideally I would move to a bit more rural of an area but for now this is a nice little place.
I know for a fact I may never want to live anywhere outside of newengland again though. I absolutely love NH, I say that to myself almost every day, I would perhaps live in VT though cuse that's nice too.
I just can't go without the changing seasons, nice people and small new england town feel, it's so comfortable and the people are great and I can buy fireworks and stuff lol.
Sad about Maine, some of my relatives live there still and they're struggling with the same economic crisis, but I still love visiting.
I try to go at least once per year just to visit the area, usually stay at the Sand Piper Inn on Old Orchard Beach cuse its cheap and right on the water, plus I can just pop over to my old town of Portland for some nostalgic stuff lol witch your name reminds me, I get a Slush Puppy every damn time I go there, I hope that little sandwich shoppe never stops selling them lol been getting them there since I was 5 years old.
Anyway yeah I like to walk the warf and the cobble stone roads and hang out on peaks island and the eastern promenade by the little train tracks, but I also love walking around OOB at night by the carnival and staying at that hotel I can just walk right down under the boardwalk from there, and it's awesome.
lol such a nice place to visit, well unless its memorial day weekend cuse its so packed. I love it in the off season.
good times though, I haven't gone yet this year but I want to very soon lol love all the cheesy tourist shops where everyone sells the SAME cheap lobster memorabilia and sea captains with pipes n stuff lol hilarious how that never ever changed, like I still have some stuff from when I was a kid and like, they still sell it there, for the same price, kind of disappointing seeing as I thought it was special sea stuff when I was little lol.

Whenever I see 'wiggers' up here I have to suppress the urge to shout "you're in NH/ME/VT' you tool!!!! Move to Chicago and you won't last 20 minutes."
I'm not familiar enough with Nashua except think that it's too crowded for me!!! I much prefer space like what Alstead and Acworth have to offer. Vermont is GORGEOUS and I love the general attitude over there- word of advise though- stay out of Brattleboro and Bellows Falls. It's like Keene but even skankier!! I lived just outside of Hartland for a while, it was honestly the best two years!
Maine is terrific for visiting, and I support boosting their economy that way. because the state seems inept at boosting it's own economy with the resources it has. We have so much space and potential we could make windmill factories, or set up technology research centers, or put together a Maine version of the AT, but no one does these things. Instead they try to tax restaurant food MORE! And make a tax on cigarettes to get revenue for children's health insurance. Yeah because THAT's sustainable!
Oh well. I enjoy the cobble stones and bricks too! I think when I get my own place I'll make the walkways brick :)
I rode my bike through Yarmouth for the first time two weeks ago- the mansions up there make my jaw drop!!! A lot are for sale though. Ha! A little bit of vindication in that.

Yeah, My friend was from Bellows Falls, his dad owns a huge farm in Putney I think somewhere, it's an awesome place lots and lots of land, he grows for the farmers markets and stuff like that.
I love the rural areas, some day I want to build a log home farther out in NH personally.
Nashua is crowded, though the part we live in seems to be more like a stuck in the 50s kind of town, you know the type; kids running up the street with a stick and a barrel rim, old ladies watering the grass and waving as you walk by, everyone knows each other and are very laid back and friendly.
It's nice but I dream of my some day log home, and forest ranger job and maybe a few pets or even a donkey or two, and like, 5 to 15 acres of land.
That's my simple little dream house lol.
Brattleboro is like, pretend hippie land and very drug saturated.
Though they got a pretty decent Main street if you like weird little shops and so on.
I want to have a cobble stone driveway and stuff at my eventual house lol just cuse I like that sort of thing, though its a pain to plow in the winter lol.
I love the forresty areas, oh if you check my scraps, I think I have some photos of the covered bridge areas of NH, those towns are amazing, like something out of a book about days long past where everyone is awesome and the land they own goes as far as the eye can see, lol I'd love to live somewhere like that.

I loooove to hike NH, though I haven't been lately due to no one really to hike with, my room mates seldom hike with me, or have time to, I do whenever I can, there are more pix in my gallery and in my scraps of places I randomly visit, more shots also that kinda never make it onto my FA or DA page cuse they're just the same old thing to everyone else, lol a mountain is a mountain, a river is a river to people it seems.
Most furs don't even care about my photos, or my stupid drawings lol, it seems if it isnt porn or a photo of someones/things junk then it's not worth a second glance here lol.
Thanks a ton for commenting and actually appreciating the pix, that's awesome : )
Hey maybe if you move back down here or I visit Maine some time we could get a bunch of people together and go hang out, I dunno how close to Portland you are but if I head up there I will likely be bringing my cousin, and/or room mates with me, If my cousin goes he will want me to take him to all the old army forts out there and stuff, if it's just me n my roomies they will wanna hang out around OOB and Portland harbors, so either way it'll be at least some kind of fun : )
Theres all kinds of stuff to do out there for a weekend trip, I've been trying to gather some extra coins to make my way up there for a weekend, was supposed to go on my birthday but failed lol.
Not a lot of people dig the stuff I do, most people I meet seem to want to stay inside and play games or just not do anything at all and it's pretty boring sitting at someones house watching them play DDR or something ya know?
But yeah, maybe like if you're bored and stuff we can assemble a crew and go have fun for a weekend, i'm totally up for any thing like that if you know anyone who wants to do something, cuse I want to plan an end of summer break up there maybe crash at the Sand Piper Inn again cuse it's like 80$/night for a big room with two large beds and ocean front view. Good times to just kick back and hang out if yer interested at all or something

I liked Putney :)
My dream home will be just south of the Whites, and it'll be a permanent yurt- mandalahomes.com I think if I could get the time and money and help to build it myself that'd be awesome. And then I'd have a massive veggie garden and can all my stuff for winter like my grampa used to do before he passed away. :D
My husband doesn't even hike with me. I end up going with my best friend, or alone. As I get to know more mountains I'm more and more ok with going alone!
Yeah, if you're up in Portland on a Wed-Sat stop at Utopian Tattoo on Union :) There's a group of furs in town that get together for Saturday brunch, but I can never go because I'm working the tattoo shop those days. Other days I'm at my 'real job'. :P Yeah hotels are expensive. If I can't stay with a friend or family I either don't go or end up camping in a tent!!!!

Awesome! Maybe some time by the end of summer I hope to come up that way! It'll be fun, I can't wait.
I think I walked into Utopian last summer, not sure, I know we like walked all over the area and even did the silly tour/tasting at ShipYard Brewery.
Dude yurts are aweseome, I only checked one out once but didn't stay in it.
My ideal home would be a log cabin, NHLogHomes has a bunch omg i'd love a nice little log cabin some day ^O^
I dig on the garden thing too, some day I will have more then whatever my roomates are attempting to plant here lol.

I've never gone into most of the bars here. It's just a different world for me and I always feel out of place. The only two I feel comfortable in are Asylum (Plague), and Nevare Rez.
I've stayed in a canvas yurt up in brownfield- Frost Mtn Yurts.
One of my best friends father works (or at least used to) at Benson Homes. http://bensonwood.com/ And yet they were always stuck in a double-wide.
I have a itty bitty garden this year- no time to have anything larger with a ft job and an apprenticeship- tomatoes, salad mix, peppers, zucchini, and scallions.
