Spirit from the stone
We are within an ever flowing current. One moment after the next.
Though there are those who dwell upon the past, gnawing upon bitter, saddening, and maddening memories.
And in doing this, their bodies harden and they twist and turn in the tides like a rock or stone.
The past belongs to the dead. Clinging to it is akin to cradling death in our very arms.
If you listen closely, you can hear them speak of injustices and wrongs, pains and more...
...But the greatest injustice of all is that they're somewhere else with the ghosts when they should be here now.
Pray for them. Pray for yourself. That you may be here now and fall in love with the moment and you in it.
This world does not need an ocean of rocks...

Having trouble conveying exactly how I'm feeling , the imagery and the metaphor is just so evocative that it really makes me want to emphasize that both the description and the image itself are complete pieces of art on their own and they do such a good job of building up on each other. It's just amazing.
The concept of being so consumed by a given behavior that it transforms or destroys you is just such a powerful way of delivering a message. It's why the Swamp of Sadness in the Never Ending Story and the Junk People in Labyrinth hit so heavy and have such a powerful sense of familiar menace. Not in a "this reminds me of" way either. This is so very clearly itself, with it's own message and nature that I wouldn't say that at all. It's just the best way I can find to say how powerful I'm finding this.
