My fursona is a gay cybernetic raccoon.
I have to figure out how to build out the robotic components should I drudge up enough money to make the fursuit version.
I wanted to keep this General, so we're not gonna talk about his robotic crotch and its accessories. ;)
Backstory:
This fortunate cybercoon was the creation of Coon Industries, a medical research firm on Terran specializing in Anthro Medicine. After a horrific accident with the early versions of the Jump Gate Transportation Network, this raccoon was brought to their facility barely alive and sustaining extensive and damaging trauma to 50% of his body and most of his internal organs.
The jump gate had failed to fully activate, thus closing prematurely and severing the raccoon in two; losing the right side of his body and most of his organs in the process. They provided the coon with an artificial biomechanical arm, a biomechanical leg; biomech heart, lungs, liver and stomach. Most of his nervous system received an upgrade to accommodate for the artificial enhancements, and coupled a neural interface plate on his neck for external non-invasive diagnostics and upgrades. He received a bionic eye shortly after his rescue surgery, when his biological right eye's retina failed and he went blind in that eye.
A few years later, after meeting with several furs and receiving some professional counseling, he was given the name Shiro by one of the nice furs he had met.
Oddly enough, he is employed for Rarnar Industries and works on their Jump Gate Development division.

I'd imagine. xP Heh, "accessories" there's a lot to be said with that. x3
Yeah, I think a lot of people would love to see that. I sure would. =P
Well, if you've ever seen or heard of people trying to cosplay FullMetal Alchemist, you could substitute the mechanical bits as some sturdy aluminum foil, maybe lightly glue on some thing metal so it doesn't weigh down or distort the fur. And I'm sure there are light weight parts that you could use velcro or something with. =3

I posted the ref sheet on the fursuits LJ comm and got some links to a few ways to make the armor. I also have friends that are theater prop makers and/or work in the film props industries, so I'm gonna hit them up too.
The arm and eyepiece will have functional LEDs in them, and I want to thread a connector between an MP3 player in the lower arm to small speakers in the head. Other than that, it would be separate pieces. The fursuit with the right side being a flexible mesh with velcro attachment points and the biomech armor. The head would just have the eyepiece installed. I'd have to look underneath the eyes that way.

Oh please do! That's why I created the ref sheet. Not so much for my own benefit (because I forget what I look like) but for others. That lower gold portion on his bio-arm is a cauterizing laser. Which tends to go off when he's in extreme danger...usually in fights when it's getting a bit bad. I'd probably only wear shorts with him, though, once the fursuit is completed. No need in explaining robotic crotch. And then shorts still show off the leg.
*brings up arm and taps a console on underarm, unleashing a concentrated neutrino blast in the area, effectively slowing down time and matter for a split second, just long enough to freeze Stripes in place. Walks up and LIGHTLY touches Stripes.* If I tag you at normal rate, when the resumes, you'll experience the force of a dump truck slamming into you at full speed. But, tag! And I can't do this again for another 30 minutes. :) *Jumps up into the air just as time and space resumes, the force launching him high into sky and dropping him onto the roof of a 20-story building.* Whoa. Shouldn't do that. *Yelling down to Stripes* YOU'RE STILL IT!
*Bionic eye zeros in on the true Stripes. Fires up the cauterizing laser and clean slices the other two figures in half, leaping up and catching Stripes on the back, falling and rolling with him. Pins Stripes' legs down and sits on his tummy, holding his arms down. Licks Stripes' nose.* TAG! Oh, but you can't go anywhere. Do I win?
This is cool. I'm glad to see there are actually other bionic furs out there. I just wish I had the artistic ability to draw my character. As you could probably tell from my name, I'm a bionic Lemur, and I have a nearly 6 foot bionic tail that I need to figure out how to make. Good luck with your fursuit!
