Nah it's fine, someone who knows Tial know that it's just them preferring to be alone, but an outsider to that interaction may take it the wrong way. Perhaps it could be something that comes up in a future segment of the comic? Like Tial getting in trouble for what someone may have assumed to be prejudice?
I imagine that at school Tial might have had experience with partners slacking off and leaving them to do the bulk of the work. It could easily be taken though with that remark for prejudice against Ikai'kap that Tial might think they can't really work hard and will just be off wanting to party or play instead.
