And I totally agree about the cowboy lions. But I haven't seen many furs use that theme lately...

Comedy of Errors, maybe? I honestly think LK 1 1/2 was a last attempt to milk everything else out of the Lion King franchise.

Not Shakespeare directly, but 1 1/2 would be Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. That's who Timon and Pumbaa match up with, and the focus on them, seeing TLK through their eyes, and the humor matches up pretty well with the Stoppard play.

Kovu is quite a bad boy. I hate how they turned Simba into an overprotective father.

I don't think I ever watched the Lion King sequels, despite the fact I was always watching the Disney channel as a kid (Back when they showed cartoons, though they did have that six month period where they played that movie Blank Check over and over and over again until you just wanted to punch your fist through the wall), so I'm taking it that I'm lucky? :P

I remember Disney would have "Disney Original Movies" like "Zenon" and "Phantom of the Megaplex" that they would cycle constantly. Now it's all Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana garbage. I just did this in an afternoon which is why it's in the "scraps" section, but I'm glad you like it.

And yes: preserve your childhood keep far away from the sequels!!
