Dwarfs have a very odd relationship with religion. It was said that long ago, before the days or Ragnarok, the Dwarfs of Svartalfheim gave their swore themselves to the Aesir; otherwise known as the Gods of the Norse Pantheon. But many Dwarfs came to the realization that such Gods were not worth their worship; they were crude and cruel. Double-crossers and deceivers, drunk on the divine energy from which they drank from and grew arrogant. Their relics are powerful artifacts that, some Dwarfs, believe should be theirs. Others think they're too powerful for anyone of any realm.
These days, Dwards don't believe in one singular God or even a collection of them. However, they do have a belief in the divine; of a cosmic force that shapes the realms. It in itself can host many beings, both by horrors beyond their comprehension and beauties beyond their wildest dreams, but it itself is nothing to fear. And it can take many forms of worship. Leigh, for instance, is a worshipper of the Forge; believing that this force, neither benign or adverse, guides the hands of any smiths such as herself. It aides them in forming armor that will not bend, in forming tools that will not fail, and axes that will cut bone in two.
It's funny in a way, as Dwarfs are both hearty warriors and dedicated craftsfolk. To many Dwarfs, a forge is like a second home. But be they smiths, brewers, jewelers, or carpenters, Dwarfs strive in whatever craft they take up. They don't simply wish to survive on their craft, but to master it. To be the best in their fields, if not the best they can be.
