Purely decoration for the back cover of my SCAVENGERS comic #2, this blueprint gives a few spcs of the ship. Don't bother trying to determine the physics. It's a story about a ship crewed by upright walking and talking animals so we've already blown any chance of credibility right there. This is meant to be FUN. :)

Subspace... There could be various handwaving for that... Use of momentarily relativistic electrons as reaction mass, diffraction interference between electrons and their time-dilated quantum-mechanics alternate selves, or a selective expansion/contraction of space-time ala superstring theory...
True, but which form of handwavium you're using affects what else might be plausible as side effects of the engines and engineering malfunctions...
