I have a weakness for races with skin darker than charred marshmallows, so making an Umbrex was on my todo list when I heard of them.
There's no 'story' here, I just wanted to add my vessel character shown here and her stepping on her felt like just the nonsense to bring them together on one image.
I don't know how accurate this is to

WesternSky's concept of the race b/c the sample size of Umbrex was then currently one. I think I got the "Vessel but big and scifi" part down however.

Umbrexes aren't complex.
Basically Umbrexes can come in many shapes and sizes. My headcanon for them is their bodies grow to match the people they are surrounded by. So if one were to grow up on Earth they would have standard human proportions. But if one were to grow up around tall, thin, buxom or standard hyper people they would look like that as well.
So Umbrexes are pretty open as to what they can be since at the end of the day the species was created to be "not vessels." It's just a weird personal thing of wanting my OC's to be less and less connected to existing franchises.
