EDIT! Thunder, with the crew's help, has stolen an enemy ship, been voted Captain, and also commandeered the former captain's hat~
Took me darn well long enough to get it together but ah well~ Meet Thunder of Ocean Wave, my PC for a coastal/piratical D&D campaign in a homebrew setting!
Going by “Thunder”, this pretty kitty was born in a land far, far East of where she’s gallivanting around now. Given storm magic as a child in a “freak accident” (divine whimsy), as a young adult she was set to be given to the fiendish emperor of their land, who was ‘enamored’ with her. Given his... Tendencies to cause his wives to disappear, she pleaded with her whip-crack-smart mother to spirit her away out of the country. This was not a decision easily made. The only daughter, second of four children, and the key way to elevating their new-money-nobility family to the ranks of the old-money-nobility; her father knew the dangers but noble ranking means so much in their country.
Thunder’s mother schemed a safe way out for the young cat lady. One day vowing to return once she’s stronger to overthrow the monarchy, Thunder has been sailing for 8 years to the day on and off other vessels. Making friends with crews and captains across the waters between the Curoqi archipelago and the Axian Sea.
And just recently, she was struck again (this time voluntarily) by divine lightning, as she accepted the charge of the Storm Deity to serve as a Tempest Cleric.
