Hm.. I like how it's sounding. I admit I don't know all the proper terms, but there's a good harmony to the instruments, and I like how its tempo increased when the clarinets (They are clarinets, right?) started up. Whoa... This is awesome. I can't wait to hear more of it!

I only wish I had a better ear for music so I can give you more detail on what I like about it.. ^^;;

It's very good, only it cuts off just as it starts to get interesting.

BbMinor is an interesting key to work in, by the way.

Yeah. I figure I'll write twelve symphonies, descending by half-steps. The first was in B minor, the second in B-flat minor, the third in A minor, etc...

Actually, it's 'cause the medium (concert band) works better in flat keys than sharp, and from my experience playing in one, they're coddled like hell in keys like Bb major, F major, Eb major. None of them are ever challenged. So I've decided to force them to learn other keys.

If you're up for messing with musicians, you can also do what Stravinsky did and throw in some parts that the instruments they're written for were never meant to play, like the Bassoon at the beginning of "Rite of Spring" that plays like an English horn. XD

Actually, many people at the premiere thought it was a saxophone. But in that register, it has a very woodsy, thin quality that is impossible to achieve with a Cor Anglais.

That is the best register for bassoon. I am a bassoonist and live to play the "I'm not an english horn" solo.

You see more than just stravinski writing up in the solo register for bassoon these days. Look into some Julie Garoux and Carter Pann compositions, not to mention Robert Sheldon and Steven Reineke.

Nice harmonics. The intro accords are quite captivating, but the accelerando part (starting at 0.44) is what makes me want to listen to the completed version. It's a very interesting way to build up tension and making the listener hungry for more ;)

Not as yet, no. I have finished my second symphony, however. But it's for orchestra.
