It’s been a while since I played Super Mario Odyssey; I’ve beaten it, and almost gotten every Power Moon! All that’s left are that jump-rope challenge and one of the picture matches in the Mushroom Kingdom. It’s a wonderful game, and the Broodals were lovable and adorable antagonists. I prefer the Koopalings, personally, but I wouldn’t mind seeing those bunnies and their boss/possible mother again one day! Speaking of their boss, I think this is the first picture of Madame Broode hypnotized!
This day was shaping up to be absolutely dreadful!
It had started so well; she and her darling Broodals had gotten a letter requesting their services. The writer had insisted on meeting to discuss further details in a specific location in the Cascade Kingdom; nowhere else would do! He claimed to have a massive treasure hoard at his disposal, and would be more than willing to pay up front. Under better circumstances, she would have dismissed it as a scam, but that horrid plumber had ruined their reputation and cost them every client. Between that and the photo of a massive pile of coins, they were left with no other choice than to track down the meeting place.
The search had been exhausting; no one recognized the spot in the photo, and they had spent several hours trying to find it. Finally, Rango had spotted it, some tiny railway hidden behind a chunk of rock. Unfortunately, her precious pooch had chosen that moment to snack on Spewart’s latest painting, and between the sick Chain Chomp, shouting Spewart, and Topper’s unsuccessful attempts to get between the two, she had had enough and sent them all home; she’d call them when she needed a ride back.
And so, Madame Broode had been waiting for the past half hour for the mystery client. The lack of a map or any sort of directions had been rude enough, but now he couldn’t be bothered to show up on time?!
If his payment was anything less than he had promised, he was getting a face-full of Hariet’s bombs.
Broode was about to give up and call when a flapping sound caught her attention. She turned to see a massive bird with a turban and glowing eyes settle down atop a nearby cliff; what she’d thought was jewelry around the bird’s neck turned out to be a snake, who uncoiled himself and leaned down to her eye level.
The snake introduced himself as Kaa. He was sorry for the wait; his bride to be was less than willing, and scouting the area to ensure no one would overhear had taken longer than he’d thought. Broode forced herself to calm down; if the snake was serious, he was one client she couldn’t afford to offend, so it was no trouble at all, really! Before their planning started, she’d need the girl’s name and appearance; it wouldn’t do at all to kidnap the wrong girl!
Kaa chuckled; that wouldn’t be a problem. The girl in question was a large and lovely rabbit in red. Her fur was white and her hair blue, green, and blonde; it was really a beautiful combination. He doubted he could do it justice, but he’d be happy to show her!
Broode’s jaw dropped in awe as Kaa’s eyes bloomed with beautiful, captivating colors. Ring after ring swept through her mind, washing away her thoughts in a sea of bliss. Kaa beckoned the bunny closer, and she stepped towards the snake, her pupils no bigger than pinpricks. Coil after coil wrapped around her curves, compressing and caressing Broode in a massage that had her moaning in delight. The snake began to speak, and the bunny’s ears perked up at the sound of his voice, grinning goofily as spirals filled her sight.
She heard many things from the snake as his soft, silky voice filled her head. She heard how the spirals had sworn her to the snake, how she’d be a soft, snuggly servant to her master. How she’d fulfill all his needs, food, entertainment, protection, conversation, anything. How in return her master would cherish her, caressing her with coils, colors, praise, taking up the burden of her thoughts and will. And how, as his precious pet, his blushing bride, she’d be free to live a life of love and adoration, both from and for him.
Broode had practically melted in his coils at this point, colors swirling in her eyes as she nodded along in bliss. A purr escaped her throat as her tail wagged about behind her. This was the happiest, most relaxed she had been in her life, of course the snake had her love and loyalty! A final tug on her neck sealed the deal, as a PING! rang out in Broode’s head, the bunny breaking out into the widest, silliest grin anyone had ever seen from her.
Kaa sighed happily as he caressed his beautiful bunny’s cheek with his tail; he loved it when he found a particularly special pet. It was nice, sometimes, to have a partner. He doubted it would be permanent; he simply loved travel and trances too much to likely ever truly commit. But for the time they’d have together, he’d be as good as his word; Broode would have the most loving, playful partner the world would ever see. And when he left, locking her memories of him behind a trigger ‘til they met again, the rabbit would wake, happy, relaxed, and with the distinct feeling of being loved.
In the meantime, though, they’d have plenty of fun together. Kaa called, and Wingo came, the brainwashed bird snatching up Broode and his master in his claws. He’d been useful for this, writing, taking pictures, providing transportation and treasure (that last one had come with assurances that he’d be getting his treasure back and possibly more; Kaa could simply hypnotize some potential clients for Broode to get her back on her feet.)
The three flew off into the sky, none of them to be seen for quite a few nights (or at least until the Broodals managed to track down their boss).
