Research & Development Department.
A rather secretive and shady branch of the Hell Corporation tree. It's existence more of a rumor among the lower level employees and a hush hush operation kept quiet by the few higher ups that know its validity; the CEO himself of course being very well aware of this branch and its existence. After all, someone tests out the products that they market and ship out to Latiumus City while also having a small side task of researching advancements in the dark and occult. Demons need better ways to fill up the soul quotas, faster ways to summon themselves to the Overworld, and of course the preparation of the eventual apocalyptic rise of their kind eventually.
R&D existing in its own seeming realm at times as the elevator ride to its level seems to take forever to reach the destination. The dry heat of Hell being replaced by a sudden coldness and chill as if one had stepped into 9th Circle. One almost transported to a strange, cold, and sterile (as can be) laboratory that worked away at its task to study and learn. Though it's slight separation of what little 'checks and balances' there was from the CEO meant that the work done in this area could be what the research mons desired or were told by their their own supervising boss. Even then, it was usually not too far enough as to get the big chu riled up and blood boiling..
Trifling from Old God texts, Ancient Dimensional Ruins, and Dark Rifts to the more up to date matters of teleportation, cloning, and production line testing; R&D has its work cut out for itself. Though the deceased and damned provide an ever lasting pool of researchers to be able to process all that work. The Psychic types though seem to be the more desired souls to be pulled from the ethereal waiting room that is Limbo. Those 'lucky' souls reborn again in a fiery spectacle before uniforms up and off to orientation here in R&D.
A113 a prime example of a perfect Pokemon type for the role of researcher. What would be coveted as a being of mystical proportions by the mortals is just another footslogging daemon in the hordes of the underworld. A113's 'name' so far compromising of their employee number 113 and their work sector, Alpha, rather than a proper name. They seemed little bothered by this as the many other Mew researchers that make up the majority of the R&D staff are similarly named; B305, C562, D211, etc. Although if they feel the need for individuality, there certainly are a few that make up their own little nicknames to stand out. They have feelings too after all.
It perhaps is just another case of the common workplace thoughts of most of the company; Expendability is fine as you'll be back most times. Though Pokemon Resources says that it is simply a silly workplace joke. Nonetheless, A113 has seen plenty of disregarding of safety for researcher mews when testing or studying rather dangerous items.. or beings for that matter that are held in R&D.
Miss Arbitrum a boss that wishes to see results and production going even at the expense of some hiccups here and there. Only a real big problem would be cause for concern. Like a specimen breaching their containment and wrecking havoc in their sector..
The other realm threats that can come from those rifts if not careful can be rather troublesome as they don't have the same 'civility' that the demons that inhabit the underworld. They're instead rather.. naturalistic in their manners. It certainly leaves a lot of researchers needing a visit to the R&D's own Soul Sanctum once it has been gotten under control again by other staff members. A113 having seen a fair bit of action trying to re-contain one of those eldritch beasts running rampant through Sector B once. It only took half of the sector which seems a good response time in their books.
Though of course they aren't exactly experts in thee containment or capturing processes. A113 more of an expert of the Application of Cloning and cryptic deciphering of Ancient Texts and Alter Sigils. They do pretty well in those fields of study mind you as with enough clone chus, they'd been able to capture quite the interesting beings in their containment sectors. Perhaps they'll get a promotion in due time from the boss if they keep on doing the good work. Maybe dabble a little bit more in the Corruptive Energies section of Sector Alpha.
What playing too much Lobotomy Corp. and remembering your own shady weird science spin off does to a dorky chu. He makes something simply into more deeper, more lore filled, and mysterious. New Hell Corp. area dropped boys and gals lets goo. Update.
