Two weeks prior to Duck "Bill" Platypus's magical transformation, a small group of dingoes accidentally stumbled upon the remains of what looked to be a green robot, just nearby the tank damaged beyond repair at dead tree. Having taken a long time to recognize it to be Crocbot, they initially panicked at that sight but then realized it had been offline for some time. After further inspection, the dingoes placed the Crocbot right inside the nearby abandoned coal mine and sealed the said mine with planks, in hopes that neither Eggman or any of his minions would dare to set foot inside.

Right after Bill's transformation, he and his Dark Egg Legionnaires went on border expansion so as to transform anyone they came across into equally muscular minions. However, they were also aware of potentially hidden opposition, and so prepared metal detectors and heat visions to ensure no future resistance. Instead, a small group of muscularized platypi received a beep, indicating the source coming from the coal mine, there did they also discover a little heat. Those platypi were shocked to see Crocbot again, the very thing that manipulated both Duck and his own kind to do his bidding, yet no platypus but Duck had any knowledge about him behind the scenes.

The platypus group phoned Duck about their discovery, and although shocked, he ordered that Crocbot be brought into his base immediately. Duck's transformed comrades Walt Wallaby and Barby Koala on the other hand were hesitant about his decision. After few hours of thorough repairs, Crocbot was as good as new, and was turned back on. Crocbot was shocked to find himself surrounded by hunky platypi, and immediately spotted Walt and Barby with hostility, but Duck intervened. Crocbot immediately recognized the same platypus he once controlled before and correctly assumed that Duck himself turned the wallaby and the koala to his evil side as well. All Duck could respond was a silent evil smile, much to the robot's confusion, but Crocbot then noticed Walt and Barby walking among him with something he himself was very familiar with: an outback hat.

Crocbot felt quite nostalgic about the hat and thanked the two for a simple gift, but then he noticed a purple glow inside the hat. He pulled out the strangely-carved glowing stone, much to his confusion, but that took long enough to trigger transformation on him. It was causing his arms, legs and torso and inflate and began to develop slightly defined muscles. His torso also began to widen, making him bulkier in a process, but his tail then split up into three equally long ones and regrew its new tail plates on them, forming up three attaching tails that allowed penetrating into electronics and robots, as well as carrying items when needed. The end result also came with serious amounts of aggression and drains of intelligence.

In fact, the idea of turning a living, sentient robot into a muscular warrior baffled even Duck, as robots normally don't have any organic flesh, and yet Crocbot's case showed with no problem. The best thing for Crocbot to do right now was to run on fours to charge at his enemies, and use his tails to catch them or to collect vehicles. As much as Duck wanted to celebrate Crocbot's new form, he had received news that half the people of Downunda were gathering up an impromptu army to stop him. So he sent Crocbot and good-sized squadrons to deal with them while he continued planning his expansion across the continent.
