After the bombs fell, what was New York had been known after the war as Nuke York, and though for most years their world was overcast with nuclear clouds and rainfall, there was the rare occasion where it was clear enough to see the sun. Nuke York was infamous as a rather uninhabitable zone, save for specialized buildings built to reach high up, protected from the elements of the outdoors. Hundreds of years after the war, there was a new species that inhabited the craters and ruins of what was their city, adapted to thrive by building upon their ancestors' remnants. Though they still had to wear goggles and carry rubber umbrellas to protect from the acid rainfall, millions lived within tight apartments in skyscrapers that reached deep below the sea level.
Speaking of the sea - many nuclear bombs had missed the cities or gone elsewhere, into the ocean. Nuke York was particularly desolate, with the Statue of Liberty barren and their city reaching miles down under. Very rarely, however, the acid rainfall stopped, and there was a tide that rolled in near the far coast, uninhabited. There lie sandy beaches left behind from the past, and a simple shoreline that spanned across the southern and eastern border of Nuke York, facing the city to the west.
Usually this area was off limits. Not due to danger, but rather due to how perfectly nice of a getaway resort it was for one such prominent rock star - and ruler - the decades old founder of Nuke York.
Now was such an occasion where Mok's advanced computers predicted a coming tide and clear skies for the perfect moments in time to be captured - a sunset. This was a once in a lifetime chance for him to experience a true sunset at the beach, and so he packed his bags for a special field day. Though usually he rarely ever left the comfort of his personal areas, both due to hatred of the outside world and for his own protection, he couldn't help but feel the need to capture this occasion.
Naturally, of course, Mok had to bring along at least one of his minions to lug around his baggage and towels, as well as to be his needed protection in case of unwanted guests, this time it was none other than Sleazy. While usually Toad accompanied him on field days such as these, Toad had his scheduled game of Poker with his friends that simply couldn't be interrupted, and Mok had no desire to argue with him. Zip didn't do well outside, and as for Cinderella - Let's just say that he would rather not be bringing her out with him when he's trying to relax.
Mok had decided to ignore Sleazy for the majority of the trip, instead focusing on himself and of course capturing the moment with his cameras as much as he possibly could. He purposely tried to ignore Sleazy, primarily due to the brother's prying eyes and rather transparent facial expressions and body language that he exhibited.
