For the muscle suit I've been building.
Head foamwerk, finished hindhooves and handhooves(Attached). I'm pretty happy with how they turned out :3 This is my first time building hooves in this manner, so I'm pretty pleased :3

A good thought, if they were horse hoof sized XD These bad boys are about 9" across.. I'd be pretty hard pressed to find horseshoes that big :3 (I'd hve to get them specially made or ordered from a place that specialises in shire breed shoes, but they weigh about 7-11 lbs apiece, which is a LITTLE too much for poor human feetsies :3 I could have made them to make a clip clop sound, but.. having suited in a suit with that option before, it gets REALLY annoying after the first ten minutes, lol.
I think typically they use a soft plastic, a resin or a rubber training hoof(But again they'd have to be custom made). Wooden ones work great, too. Also you can run a thin strip of metal through the shoe and it makes the same noise.
Yea one of my monsters had clippy clop hooves, could only wear it for twenty minutes at a time outside. MADDENING. Like chinese water torture lol

Horse shoes come in lots of sizes. I remember seeing some pretty big ones at Tractor Supply.Another option, and easier on floors (steel horse shoes will destroy tile floors), is to stick some hard wood on the bottom. Like, a really, really hard wood. And, they could be removable so the wearer could just take them out if they didn't feel like hearing it.
I don't trust wooden horseshoes for fursuits, just because- they'll go over gravel, turf, puddles, hot bl;acktop- Water+Heat+Weight = expanding/contracting material + alot of weight. And I know heavier breed shoes come in this size(11" wide, 9" long, it'd have to be a blacktop shoe)- but like I said, human feet + 7-11 lbs = tired feet, plus metal would destroy hotels, and there's no feasable way to attach an insanely heavy horseshoe to a rubberised material based hoof, lol. It'd fall out alot.
Also, how would you make it removable? It'd have to be a hella strong connection to the hoof so that it could go across all surfaces and not fall off. I don't think it would be possible without a huge price spike for specialised materials.

Ahhh! I see what you mean. Yea a hollow block of wood would work great for that. As for rare earth, maybe- although whatevers magnetised would still slide around on the bottom of the shoe, I've got a bunch of them, and theyr'e amazing for up and down strength but you can slide heavy objects around on them pretty easily.
Hehe, it takes alot of engineering, dunnit? XD I'm on a timecrunch too which is mostly why I didnt want to work on engineering these for this guy, lmao! But yea, you'd have to have a runner or a notched groove to sit the hoof in(Although if there was a fragile thin piece of hoof at the front when the horseshoe WASNT in it- it would probably break easily :X)
Putting a notched groove for a hollow block of wood on the bottom seems the best option IMO, circular piece, so there are no hard edges on your notch(90 degree angles are pretty easily broken in my experience)

See my various arguments above. Real horseshoes = for real horses, not even police horses use metal horseshoes on asphalt because its a TERRIBLE IDEA. Rubber horseshoes are what they use on asphalt, and those sound more like sneakers with huge monsters in them.
Thank you though! :D

Very true, I've seen people's horses get pretty banged up when some people get the dumb idea that all horses need metal horseshoes, then just walking on some hard ground, the horse falls. ): One horse that we bought, who was a trail horse, had shoes, and it was a pain to go anywhere. She left this big marks everywhere. x3 The shoes were sorta like cleats, so she wouldn't slip on more hilly trails. >.<
Rubber horseshoes? Hmm, the seem reasonable, but obviously not worth putting on a fursuit if you want clip clop. x3 Perhaps just a recording or the noise as you walk. That should do it. xD
