Not much is known about Spirit's dad, apart from what is written in the books. I did ask the writer what happened to him and she did give me an answer which I shared on the old 'Run With The Wind' forum, but sadly I can't get to it now as the website was taken down and sadly the writer Kathleen Duey has recently passed away. All I know is they didn't include Strider as they wanted Spirit to be the lead stallion. Some fan theories have come up with the idea that he died in captivity.
