you know how enemies in fantasy videogames, like Heartless and Nobodies in "Kingdom Hearts", sometimes have graffiti-like emblems tattooed on their bodies?
The pale thorny ones that almost look like either curvy keyholes and/or card-suits would indicate the attribute of either a dungeon boss and/or a summoned guardian. (inspired from dot-hack// series, especially from "Beyond the World" movie when a player logs in to "The World FORCE: ERA" which I hope becomes a real mmorpg someday)
The similar metric ones represent same attributes, but indicates possible elemental combinations when player/user invokes a spell. (inspired by the miraculous, aka magical jewelry for superheroes, from "Miraculous: Tale of Ladybug and Chaot Noir")
And the symbols surrounding the gateway like an arc are runes that provides a hint on what attributes and/or elements the emblems indicate, and combinations for various things other than spells. (inspired from "kaijudo" cards)
