I never could've imagined how much biking would save me.
I never learned how to ride until last spring, and after a summer full of riding my bike, before I knew it I was a totally happier, healthier person, and now I cannot imagine not having a bike.
My mental health was on the fast track to rock bottom last year, and it's no exaggeration to say that biking was the biggest thing that really turned everything around for me.
It's been so hard not being able to ride all winter... Just went today, and wow, I feel like myself again!
I honestly had no idea I could have mental health as good as it has become now that I have my favorite escape of being able to bike around listening to music, enjoying nature, and having so much more freedom.
Lucky for me, just half a year into being a biker, I was also in the position to be able to afford buying an ebike, and I *cannot wait* to bike as often as I am able this summer!!
Planning on really long rides to town with my partner!
Since this has been such a big life milestone for me, I knew I needed to pay tribute to my bike which I am so super proud of and love so much. HAD to draw my bike, of which I have named StarCandy, after I covered the frame in holographic stars and soot sprite stickers!! :)
I based this on the photo from this article!

It's interesting how often something as simple as exercise and spending time outside seems to be a solution for bad mental health. I guess it's only natural that it would.
I do miss riding a bike, there was a summer where it feels like we were riding almost every day with some friends and I think I've lost almost 20 pounds over it. Would really benefit me these days, but damn those car comforts are hard to give up.
