I scribbled out a few elf heads for a character I am designing. I am looking for input on which facial features looks best, or what ear types you may personally like, or which ones you like or don't like in general, and why. Thank you.

The fourth and last seem more like what normally is considered elven to me. As for which I prefer I'd say the fourth. The ears of the last are too Disney-wing-ears style, if you know what I mean. As for facial features, I like the first better than the fourth, but I think that mostly has to do with where the eyes are set; they're higher in the fourth.
good for you for trying out features and stuff! :) I like it when artists do that
the first, second and fourth are very nice; I'm fondest of the long pointed ears on the second, and the head shape on the first and the button nose on the fourth. That's just my personal take though! :)

I personally feel more empathy with the 3 and 4 ears, the other ones seem too big or too small for my personal taste… And the 5th one looks like chobits o.o;;
About the eyes I would probably try something a bit more open, like the 2 one but with a different perspective…
Now what I wonder is WHY do you want to do this character? I think the character might be lacking an intention. To add empathy, it's a good exercise to try to help the viewer know as much as he can about the character just by looking at his face/body Is he evil? good? cute? eats humans?
I hope that helps =)

Honestly, the first and second heads, are what the books and other medias of "Elven" nature, say are the best. I use these types for that reason. ^^ Elves are elegant, beautiful, with smooth lines and delicate curves to their faces, with the large pointy ears as a dead give away. =) The others actually look too much gnome/halfing/orc for my taste. Good luck! =)

i like the second one in i'm a sucker for the large elf ears (wow player) but i also like the fourth one in since its more tolkien elven
most of all what i like about those two is the the ears are streamline not sticking out which i feel is more elegant than the later couple
as for features i like the second again the elongated features are very elfin as well as the big eyes i'm enjoying that one very much
