My local museum has a steam engine on display outside the building. That engine being the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad's number 3423; a 3400 class Pacific type (4-6-2) locomotive built by Baldwin for the Railroad and was one of a batch of 10 oil-burning steamers. This locomotive was retired in 1952 and donated to the museum's town in 1955, before finally being moved to it's current place in 2001.
I was never around to see this locomotive running, but I can only imagine it was a marvel in it's prime, and I am proud to live near the museum where it is located.
