Hey folks! So I am finally trying to assemble the final DragonScape and I am torn on two options. The idea of course is that the Americas got royally fucked up and its mostly a question of how much. I am trying to avoid the sciences of tectonic plates and continents and treating this softly. Reality got destroyed so I imagine when there are no rules, things can end up in any direction.
I really love both of these broad shapes, however I feel as though I pick one I lose out on the other so I am fishing for thoughts and comments and opinions here.
Both options I've anchored around where Oli has journeyed to make sure that I don't incidentally invalidate the climates and biomes of the dragonscape that has already been seen in the Long Hike, though of course this would change things about future stories in the DragonScape.
So option one
This one the vote on Discord (13 votes vs 9 on 2) and is the less extreme option. The Sheer force of the pulse had rotated the continents which, when combined with other extreme geographic shifts would form the Americas of the DS in this sorta format.
So the climates are similar ish, overall the continents are in the same regions that they were in previously and their arrangement, while probably changing some ecoregions wouldn't have as extreme of an effect as they would in option 2. This version of the DS would also be more spread out when compared to option 2. Likewise less new geography (canyons, mountain ranges, waterways etc.) would have to form, as of course if I feel the need to preserve one sort of biome I might make new geographic occurences to compensate for the movement of say, a mountain range.
Option 2
Far more severe, so the Americas wind up moving a lot closer. North America overall moves a bit south and South America moves notably further north. This combined with the much more extreme rotation (of particularly south america) is going to change the environments and biomes of the Dragonscape (outside of the PNW where Oli is) in a far more extreme manner. Everything from New England becoming warmer and more temperate to the Patagonian desert turning into a semi arid shrubland/grassland, etc. this is more extreme
Of course a lot of things do stay the same California and Central America are still archipelagos, the Great Lake and SE swampland expansion has almost cut the Eastern US off from the continent, Brazil now has a heavy split from the Amazonian Straight between the Northwest and Southeast of modern Brazil, and the Southern Andes have broken off partially
So yeah these are extreme changes but an apocalypse where reality itself shatters would warrant that I feel, the question is more "how much should the americas get messed up?"

It kinda got exploded as the actual pulse wasn't far away from it, so at least in terms of geographic shifts South America almost got split along the Amazon River, though there are many tributaries and rivers that still remain faithful to the original geography that aren't seen here (as are many other waterways for the moment)
What I am saying is, the Amazon river along the Renca region of northern Brazil would effectively get split like a fissure, turning into a Straight, though other parts of the river are still intact. It would also be partially flipped as of course South America as a continent got rotated by varying amounts (depending on which option I go with)
