A trainer is taking a more analytical approach to battle, which his charmeleon feels is making him colder and distant. He's worried both about his friend's happiness, and what the future will hold for their friendship. Luckily, a passing mythical happens to hear his concerns.

This is a light fluff piece I wrote, and it reminds me of the sort of stuff I used to make when I first started making pokemon fanfics. Over all, while it could stand to have one or two more scenes at the front as setup, I'm quite happy with the way it turned out.
