I wouldn't call modular a species either. Overall, modular is something separate from a species, because you can combine modular with pretty much any species. It's more like a power, an ability, or even in terms of categorizing furry artwork, it's a subject or specialty.

Glad you asked that question: it is thought-provoking, and we should have a solid definition of what modular is.

But, what's definitely true about modular is that it is open to everyone!

Modularity is a feature of a creature or object, it's not a species and it can't be claimed as intellectual property, it is simply a description of how an object or body functions. I know this is a super old post lol but I still felt like saying it
