Lance Sketch Page 3 by Rotting Hound
Another sketch page I commissioned Rotting Hound for to explore more concepts of their awesome Chinese-American werewolf character Lance Wei!
This page explores a snapshot of how Lance's monthly transformations over time have been leaving behind permanent residual effects on his human form preventing him from returning to a completely human shape. He's going to need to figure out a new footwear situation soon to not stand out on his daily travels.

After 20+ years of transformation, his 'base form' will be in an approximately 75% werewolf shape. So shifting events themselves will become more 'mild', but that's because there is less room to travel through the tunnel of that experience as it were. For Lance, there are other small groups of werewolves in the world, but due to intensive trauma associated with the change, numbers of such individuals are low within 'common' society. Werewolf groups operate as discretely as possible. I am not 100% sure if knowledge of werewolves is largely known in Rotting Hound's world for him, but for Lance until meeting up with other werewolves he would not be having the best time managing hiding everything going on for him.
Personally I wouldn't mind seeing how he disguises himself to function in everyday life. Like you said, the footware would a problem. Can other werewolves identify each other? Like via scent or seeing someone awkwardly covering their wolf features? Honestly If I were an older werewolf, I'd probably try to turn someone, in part for a friend, but also so they could do my errands in human society. Then when they couldn't disguise themselves anymore we'd pick a new errand wolf till eventually there would be an entire pack XD.
Very interesting concept of an 'errand wolf' as someone who is delegated to basically interface with human matters from werewolf groups. I imagine that as time progresses for an individual within the change there would be more identifying characteristics for someone who was savvy to werewolf ways. I can imagine big social constructs surrounding the "Rules" of showing or concealing your wolf-self to non-werewolves. These are great questions, and I don't have any solid answers at this time as Lance's world is still very much in flux. I think Rotting Hound would love hearing interest in this way for his character and storyverse. :D
