The phenomenon of sweet tea in the southern part of the United States is familiar even beyond the North American continent! And while Dai may well have a sweet tooth to him, even sweet tea has its limits. Asking “how much tea would you like with your sugar” is perhaps a bridge too far, but such is Dai’s demeanour that he will still do his best to reassure his host that he is enjoying it. Sticking his tongue is for…um…airing the sugar, that’s it!

Down here in the west sweet tea runs through my own veins Dai, I for the life of me can't drink un-sweetend tea unfortunately haha!

To be fair, I like sugar or honey (if I'm feeling bearish) in my tea. But as Aristotle reaches us, a virtue comes in-between two vices - one is no sweetness, the other is just sweetness. :D

To be fair, there is some truth to that. I know at least three people who put milk in the mug first before pouring water from a kettle, and then adding the teabag. I try to be open to other cultures and ideas, but I have my red lines... ;-p

I went to see my doctor this afternoon. She poured her self a hot steaming mug, not realizing it was tea and not coffee. She didn't mind, but it wasn't what she was expecting...

Add water if there's too much sugar, then add sugar if there's too much water, and you end up with a glass of sugar water. XD

If that tea doesn’t taste quite right to you, I would suggest adding a couple of heaping spoonfuls of sugar.

No sugar tonight in my coffee
No sugar tonight in my tea
No sugar to stand beside me
No sugar to run with me
