the thing in that in the europe (or a large part of it) the electrical systems run on 50Hz while the NTSC regions run on 60Hz, and on the primitive circuitry of the first TVs, it proved unfeasible to have the TVs work on a different frequency than the electrical system.
Then, in order to have the consoles working in europe, they had to output 50Hz for european TVs. And due to technical limitations of the primitive processors of old consoles (most notably the lack of floating point arithmetic), there's several games they didn't bother fixing for europe.

Everything is tied together nicer visually. I can't say anything about the controls (since there's no way to play it), but it just looks more.. professional.

Yay! More complaints! SEGA finally gave in and gave the fanboys the 2D game that they so craved, and they complain! Really, I am not surprised. I played the demo and didn't find it that bad. It plays almost exactly like the old style Sonic games, except that it has auto targeting. It's official. SEGA needs to stop trying to please their fans, because nothing will please them.
I personally think that the reason Sonic 06 was so bugged up the ass was because it was pretty much SEGA's way of getting back at the picky fans who find things to complain about in every Sonic game. They wanted to show people what a REAL bad Sonic game was. lol, that's what I think, anyway.
every Sonic game feels just a little different from the others, some examples: In Sonic 2 Sonic didn't bounce back as far after striking a badnik as he did in Sonic 3, meaning you had to be careful in order to stay clear of counter hits. The acceleration curve and top running speed of Sonic Advance 2 was much faster than in Sonic Advance. Sonic is slowed down by water much more in 1, 2, and 3 than he is in the Advance or Rush games. And the spin dash works completely differently in Sonic CD than it does in any other game in the series. It's those little differences that make playing each game a unique experience.
