A small sketch i've done... some time ago.
I'm a horrible Starcraft geek and thus i used to doodle things from the game. Here is one of my favourite units - The Lurker. I never really knew how did they manage to shoot those subterranian spikes, so i guessed it was their tail or something. It's a somehow old sketch and actually a later version. I've done one more older drawing (maybe i'll post later), yet i managed to get the right head shape on this one.
Hope You all like it!

Incredible! Wow, I love how much detail you put into this! It even looks like something that could mutate from the Hydralisk! It's too bad they took it out of StarCraft II. A lot of people have been clamoring for their return, too.
Since they're derivative of the Hydralisk, I think they actually fire the massive new spines from their back.

Actually Lurkers are still in Starcraft 2. Although You cannot build them, they are still available in the map editor, including the building needed to produce them. What's more interesting, they have their unique portrait and sound effects.
As for the spikes - that sounds pretty reasonable, although they would have to be shot with more power in order to "pierce" the ground.
