The first furs you ever knew about: Santa's
reindeer, of course. Introduced the idea as
a child, right? Animals that talk, are
sentient. Ho ho ho.
Bit of a leap from there to a married bunny
and wolf, who love each other very much.
De nada. Does it stand to reason that
Christmas is very important to them too?
(Be a very short sonnet if not. Read. :- ) )

I dunno, pretty fuzzy, the Christian mythos, on alla these fine details (that I spotted here). Ditto for *every* religious mythos, bar none. Ignore the details, focus on the faith, kiddies, focus on the faith. We're not gonna let you get sidetracked by those pesky sonnet writers.
Ah yes, about those mumbledy-million years of myth, fantasy, fabulation, and fable, the bedrock of all human cultures and civilizations (including ours). Alla which defines and articulates what is it to be human, what it means to be human, who you are as a human being. (If you buy into a specific myth-set, that is).
Now here's Furry padding onto the stage. And offering up some *radical* redefinitions of the meaning of The Human. Hmmm? Hmmm? As in, every furry story or piece of furry art amounts to part of an ongoing creation of a wholly new kind of [Anthro] mythos, unprecedented in all of human history. With tails and fangs.
But Furry is also inexorably welded solid to, and exists within the 'frame' of, all those past mythic structures. Which we, as human writers or artists, can't escape from any more'n we can stop breathing. Mixing furry and Xmas: Waaait a second. What's that sound? Everybody look what's goin' down...
This sonnet goes deep on us real fast, dontcha think? And yup, a lil' more patented Innuendo™ snuck in at the end. I love it. :- )
