Okay. So it's a married wolf and a bunny. We
all *know* what that looks like. He's got fangs,
she's got a tasty... tail.
Predator-prey marriages just have this built-in
undercurrent, don't they? Like it or not, puts a
spin on the 'till death do us part' spiel.
But then again, you have to think that they know this...

*More* trope mining! I'm not even workin' hard over here. Really, I'm not. This one took me freakin' seconds, I'll swear it.
And again I walk in the footpaw-steps of the masters, knowing how Billy did it. And isn't it interesting, sez the writer fellow, how the furry 'meta-genre' is so really rich here. Such that this piece was so easy to write.
As said elsewhere, I'm on the right website. Du-uh!! :- )

It does call for some scripted explaining, when I talk to other folks about the writing, and where to find it. And warning about what they're in for when they get there.
Anthropomorphic? Furry? Wazzup about these strange words? Oh dear, there's a half hour of talkin' gone (at least). I also must refer heavily to Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Tony the Tiger, MLP, and Pooh Bear and Bambi. Going back further, Aesops's Fables, the Grimm stories, and Pegasus (Anthro myth character). My spiel is getting polished.
Ahhh, as the enlightenment bulb goes off over heads. Then I have to explain that no, I'm not writing childrens stories. Whoo-hoo, no. :- )
Then I gotta lob literary theory onna the table. As in, Furlit is a 'meta-genre,' akin to SF and Fantasy, that presents the writer with an IMMENSE range of possibilities for stories, plots, characters, themes, worlds, etc., etc.
Meaning also you can write stories in Furry that can't be written anywhere else, same as SF and Fantasy. And wut defines a meta-genre? A distinct-unique set of high-level precepts, principles, philosophical ideas, values, attitudes, beliefs, opinions, yadda yadda, that 'boundary lines' your thinking and writing. If ya wanna buy into 'em.
Ie., an SF story relies heavily on the Scientific Method, mostly. A Fantasy story does not (or not often). The Crime meta-genre hinges on transgression and the pursuit of Justice (and often Revenge, hssss). Romance fic: Luuuuve, in all it's wild and wacky steamy detail. I could go on...
And guess what? Furry and Furlit can easily embrace *ALL* of the above, any meta-genre, without even a burp (The fangs, the fangs :- ) ). As a [tres rich] meta-genre, this one places focus on character more'n anything else. Think about it.
(See Commentary Jrnl re. Dragon and Unicorn Stories for mo' juicier detail about dis.)
Another note here to save for later use. You catch me me with hot coffee and hot keyboard in paw this morning. And I clearly got a lot out of Grade 12 high school English class, mmmm?
Thanx, Mr. McFadgeon, wherever you are. :- )
