This was originally going to be a very touching piece, but I could never put the fawn in the right area. So, I started thinking...I changed the buck's expression, and when I began painting him, his eye influenced me greatly. I know that this is not accurate to an actual buck, but I didn't use any ref...so.. I like how it came out with no ref.
Last night when I was painting on it more,
papacroc and I were on the phone, and we figured out that I had spent 6 hours on this. Seven hours if you count the hour I took this morning, touching it up and fixing some things.
I'm rather proud of this, even though I do see quite a few mistakes.
