You know. Its times like this that remind me of how powerless I feel. All the while knowing that there are conflicts taking place elsewhere. Our shared history is filled with conflicts, all of which are hard to acknowledge.

I know I'm American, I know its not a war on my home. But it is war, and its come to the millions of people who were just living their lives. And frankly it hurts. It hurts knowing that there are criminals out there that hurt people, but it hurts even more when everyone is being targeted, no matter how good or bad you are, young or old. Watching it play out in real-time reminds me of how equal we all are in the face of certain death.

Its not fair to see people wounded or dead, its not fair to see the wreckage of someone's house or home, or a familiar spot blown apart. The Heart hurts. But that is what's happening out there now. And people are caught in the middle of it! War brings ruin, and no matter what other's say, its still War.

Now...maybe I don't deserve to say any of this. There are probably those out there that say I'm defending the wrong people.

Well, I'll tell you now. I don't give a damn what they say. People are people, Civilians of all walks of life! And that's why I choose to stand, as powerless I am over here... I want to show my support, to do what I can, however I can. I know its not much, maybe I'm a fool to try. But I want to believe that I... That even a weakling like me can provide some hope in other people's lives. I want to show that I believe in heroic ideals, I want us to be better than what we are now.

Thank you for showing my character, my hero as himself, not being an escapist fantasy. But as grounded and somber as I am, uncertain but still willing to uphold what's morally right.
